How can I import a car from the USA to the UAE?Importing a car from the USA to the UAE can be a tedious task and involves the following steps: Pay a deposit to the auction in USA and select a car. Many cars are only available to businesses only. Import Any Car offers you a business account so you have the maximum available options. Once you select a car, you will have to pay another deposit, which is 10% of the value of the vehicle you would like to bid on. You'll need to make sure the vehicle is repairable. Import Any Car has an inspection team that helps you choose the right car. Once you win the bid, you'll have to transfer the full amount to the auction's company account. Import Any Car allows local payment, taking away the costs and hassle associated with this. Find an agent and arrange shipping to a UAE port (typically Jebel Ali). Hire a local clearing agent and pay shipping, customs duty, and VAT fees. Import Any Car has an in-house clearance team who will bring your vehicle to our yard once the vehicle has cleared. We simplify this process by handling shipping, VAT, customs clearance, and more for you.
-
How long does it take to import a car from the USA to the UAE?The process typically takes 4-6 weeks: 1-2 weeks for auction processing and US logistics. 3-4 weeks for ocean shipping to UAE ports. Delays may occur due to port schedules or customs processing. However, since Import Any Car is an authorized partner of the auctions, the total time is drastically reduced.
-
How much does it cost to import a car from the USA?The total cost includes: Car Price (auction bid or purchase price). USA Fees (auction fees, documentation, etc.). Shipping Costs (varies by car type; sedans cost less than SUVs). UAE Import Duty (5% of the car’s value). VAT (5% of the car's value plus duty and shipping). Customs Clearance & Registration Fees. On average, importing a car can cost $5,000-$8,000 USD, excluding the car price. For a better estimate, please use our car import calculator.
-
Which auctions do you support? We support major US car auctions, including: Copart IAAI Manheim If you need help bidding, our team will assist you in finding the best deals.
-
Will you manage VAT, customs, and clearance?Yes, we handle the entire import process, including: Paying VAT and customs duties. Managing port and clearance formalities. Ensuring the car is ready for UAE registration.
-
What documents are needed to import a car into the UAE?Original Title and Registration: This proves ownership of the vehicle in the USA. Purchase Invoice: Details the purchase price of the car, which is used to calculate customs duty and VAT. Bill of Lading (BOL): Issued by the shipping company, this document confirms that the car is on board and being shipped to the UAE. Shipping and Export Documents: Includes clearance from the USA indicating the car is eligible for export. Customs Declaration Form: This form is completed upon arrival in the UAE and is necessary for customs clearance. UAE Import Code: If you’re importing the car under a business, you’ll need a registered import code. Sounds complicated? Our service simplifies this process by collecting, organizing, and submitting all necessary documentation on your behalf.
-
What are the payments and fees required? How does it work?We follow a two-step payment process to ensure transparency and ease: Initial Payment (USA Fees): To begin the process, we charge 500AED for our service. Once we find the right car for you, we will charge 20% of the vehicle's value to be paid to the auction in case you win the bid. Once we have secured the car for you, we require the amount due in the USA (e.g., auction car price, USA fees, and shipping costs) to be paid first. An estimate of this can be found through our car import calculator. This payment must be made within 24 hours of winning the auction to secure the vehicle and finalize the export process. Final Payment (UAE Fees): The remaining amount, including VAT, customs duties, clearance fees, and any additional costs, must be paid once the car arrives in the UAE within 48 hours. You will receive a detailed invoice outlining the breakdown of all costs before the payment is requested. Accepted Payment Methods: Bank Transfers: Secure and preferred for large transactions. Credit Cards: Available for service fees or smaller payments (processing fees may apply). Escrow Services: For added security, we can arrange for payments to be held until the car is secured. Timely payments are essential to avoid delays or additional charges. If payments are not made within the 48-hour window, the auction purchase may be canceled or incur penalties.
-
Do you inspect the cars before bidding?Yes, we offer CarFax reports and pre-purchase inspections to ensure you make informed decisions when bidding: Auction Reports: We access detailed condition reports and history for each car. Third-Party Inspections: For high-value or salvage cars, we arrange on-site inspections in the USA to assess the condition accurately. This service helps avoid surprises after the car is purchased.
